Banks to remain open on 1st and 2nd June

All branches of scheduled banks at the industrial zones will remain open on June 1 and 2 to facilitate payment of wages to workers of garment factories

A circular signed by Bangladesh Bank Deputy Manager M Sirazul Islam on Sunday, was sent to the chief executives of all scheduled banks.

According to a circular, the industrials zones where banks will remain open are Dhaka metropolitan areas- Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj and Chittagong metropolitan area.

The transaction at the said branches will remain in operation from 9.30 am to 4 pm on Saturday and from 11 am to 2 pm on Monday.

It may be mentioned that Saturday, June 1, is the weekend and the Sunday, June 2 is a public holiday on account of Shab-e-Qadar.
