Mother, son slaughtered in Sirajganj

A woman and her son have been slaughtered by unidentified miscreants in Ullapara of Sirajganj on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Rizia Khatun, 93, and her son Amjad Hossen Mukul, 55, a retired army officer, residents of Mahespur Village in Durganagar Union of the Upazila.

The tragic incident took place at Durgapur Union in Maheshpur village under upazila at the night.

Confirming the news, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ullapara police station Kowshik Ahmed said that some miscreants slaughtered Amjad and Rizia when they were in sleeping in their house.

In the morning, locals spotted the bodies lying in a pool of blood on the floor at their house and informed the matter to police, he said.

The deceased bodies will be sent to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital, said the police.
