Dengue patients now in all districts of the country

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said a total of 17,183 people across the country have been infected by Dengue virus.

The DGHS came up with the latest information on Wednesday.

As per the data, till yesterday morning (8:00am) some 1,477 Dengue patients took admission in different hospitals of the country. Of them, 928 people with Dengue fever admitted in different clinics and hospitals in the capital.   

Media reports are saying that some 50 Dengue patients died during the current outbreak of Dengue in the country, although DGHS is claiming that some 14 Dengue patients died.

Sources said Dengue patients have now been found in all the districts of the country.

The DGHS said the Dengue situation of the country may take a serious turn, if there are no successful results in terms of destroying the breeding spots of mosquitoes.

Meanwhile, Road, transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader urged the authorities to come forward regarding free Dengue tests for the impoverished people.

Mentionable, four people died of Dengue fever in the last 24 hours in Dhaka and Barishal.
