FBCCI greets Joy on winning ‘ICT for Development Award'

The Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has felicitated PM's Information and Communication Technology Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy for receiving the prestigious "ICT for Development Award-2016".

"The FBCCI leaders are proud for his winning the award in recognition of his far-reaching initiatives in setting Bangladesh on the road to digital world," the FBCCI leaders said in a press statement here today.

They said every Bangladeshi is optimistic about Joy's dream which he has been implementing through a smooth planning towards building a "Digital Bangladesh" in line with the government's Vision-2021.

The business community wishes continued success of the young IT expert as they think country's technology sector would reach the peak of development through Joy's initiative, said the statement.

"We firmly believe that the country's progress would be further accelerated through his works," the FBCCI leaders hoped.

Four US institutions- World Organisation of Governance and Competitiveness, Plan Trifinio, Global Fashion for Development, and School of Business of University of New Haven- conferred the award on Joy. 

Joy received the award on Tuesday in the USA.

Eminent actor Robert Davi handed Joy the award at the gala titled 'High-level reception in support of the first anniversary of the adoption of the UN sustainable development goals, the importance of ICT competitiveness as a tool for sustainable development'.

Joy was given the award in recognition of his tremendous contribution to the people of Bangladesh through the implementation of "Digital Bangladesh" initiative as well as his outstanding leadership and commitment towards ICT and competitiveness as a tool for sustainable development.
