Factory closed after Eid, garment workers blocked road in Shyamoli

Garment workers of Alif Apparels at Shyamoli area in the capital took to street on Wednesday morning demanding to open up their factory.

The movement of blocking road left vehicular movement coming under halt. Thousands of people were in trouble for the sudden closure of the traffic movement in the area.  

It is known that, the workers of the factory went home during Eid Holydays. Returned after passing holydays, they found the factory was closed.

Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, TI of traffic police of West Division in Mohammadpur, confirming the matter said that the representatives from both the owners and workers sat in a discussion under the arrangement of police to resolve the crisis.

The workers were seen blocking the road in Shyamoli bus terminal area since morning. They also declared to continue their movement until opening of their factory.
