Govt mulling formation of taskforce to curb road crashes: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister today said they are considering to form a taskforce to curb road accidents and bring discipline in the transport sector.

The minister said his ministry is mulling for the formation of the taskforce following a proposal in this regard given by a committee led by former Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan.

He, however said, they will take final decision at the meeting of national road safety council to be held on September 5, he told reporters in this regard after a meeting with the Shahjahan Khan led committee, which already submitted 111 recommendations to bring discipline on the streets and curbing road accidents at his ministry.

Before the meeting, Shahjahan Khan handed over a report prepared by their committee to Obaidul Quader.
