12-year-old dies of dengue in Rangpur

A 12-year-old girl died after being diagnosed with dengue at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) here early today.

Monisha Akter, daughter of Mokbul Hossain of Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpir, breathed her last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital around 3:15am, said Associated Professor of the hospital’s medicine department Dr AKM Shaheduzzaman Ribel.

She was shifted to RMCH from Dinajpur’s M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital on August 26.  

Monisha was living with her parents in Dhaka where she contracted dengue. Later, she was taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.
