2 ‘teenage gang members’ arrested over Mohammadpur schoolboy murder

Police have arrested two suspected ‘teenage gang’ members in connection with the killing of Mohammadpur schoolboy Mohsin from Keraniganj area in the capital on Wednesday night.

The identities of the arrested were not disclosed but they were confirmed as the members of teenage gang.

Confirming the incident, Mohammadpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Ganesh Gopal Biswas on Thursday said, “The duo were arrested from Keraniganj area in the city in separate drives yesterday night.”

He said that Mohsin’s elder brother has filed a murder case accusing 13 persons including the duo with Mohammadpur Police Station this morning.

The OC said, “All the accused including the duo are members of ‘teenage gang’. The arrested duo have confessed this after primary interrogation.”

Drives are being made to arrest the other eleven accused, he informed.

Mohsin, 14, ninth grader of Child Haven International School, was hacked to death and his three friends were wounded in city’s Mohammadpur area on Wednesday.

A group of teenage gang members attacked Mohsin and his friends near a culvert of Mohammadpur’s Chand Mia Housing Society and left them injured.

After being rescued, they were sent to the Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared Mohsin dead.
