3-phase security for Durga Puja

Three phases security have been taken ahead of the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community for its smooth and peaceful celebration. 

"Three phases of security measures--- pre, during and after the festival--- have been taken for ensuring peaceful and smooth celebration of the Durga Puja," said Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque at a meeting with the Hindu community on law and order situation and security measures ahead of the Puja at Police Headquarters here. 

The police chief asked all to remain alert as none can deteriorate the law and order situation taking the advantage of the festival. 

A detailed discussion on the security measures centering the Puja was held with the police IGP presiding.

Leaders of the Hindu community lauded police for taking well-coordinated security measures like the previous years. 

This year, over 29,000 puja mandaps are likely to be erected across the country to celebrate the Puja. 

Among others, general secretary of Puja Udjapan Parishad Advocate Taposh Kumar Paul, general secretary of Dhaka City Sarbojonin Puja Committee Syamal Kumar Roy, director general of RAB Benazir Ahmed and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, were present at the meeting.
