Seven hurt in blasts during AL council in Kushtia

At least seven people were injured in crude bomb blasts during a council of ruling Awami League’s Bahadurpur union at Bheramara upazila of Kushtia on Sunday night.

One of the injured was identified as Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal Mukul, panel chairman and also councillor of Kushtia Zilla Parishad.

The incident took place soon after announcement of new committee mentioning Shamim Ahmed and Ujjal Hossain as president and general secretary (GS) respectively.

At least 10 cocktails exploded on the ground of Bahadurpur High School around 7:30pm, sources said.

The injured received primary treatment from the local hospital.

Sheikh Obaidullah, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Bheramara Police Station, confirmed the incident.
