Corona cases tops 94,000, new deaths record

As per today (16 June), 94,481 patients diagnosed with Covid-19 were reported in Bangladesh with 3862 new patients being positively screened over the last 24 hours.
This announcement was broadcast on Tuesday by health authorities along with the news of 53 more deaths suffered for this virus, taking the total death to 1262.
Professor Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of Health Directorate, said while presenting the regular online briefing on Tuesday.
She said, 53 more died from the disease, taking the death toll to 1,262. In the last 24 hours, 17,214 samples were examined and out of them 3,862 got positive results for the virus.
Besides, 2,237 more have made recovery from the disease, raising the total number to 36,264, she said.
The deadly virus spread to 213 countries and territories, killing some 439,421 people globally, according to Worldometer, a website which compiles number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.
As many as 81,28,490 people worldwide caught the virus. Among them, 42,42,154 people recovered from the virus, the website said.
