41 more die, 1,892 test positive in 24hrs

In a daily count Bangladesh recorded 41 new deaths from the novel infection with coronavirus, taking a total of 4,634.

About 1,892 patients suffering from coronavirus are identified in 24 hours, bringing the overall number of infections to 332,970.

The announcement was made Thursday afternoon by a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Health officials registered an additional 2,746 people recovering from the disease in one day, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 233,550.

93 coronavirus research labs around the country have tested 15,642 samples in the last 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 11.11 percent of the overall sample samples tested positive, while 19.55 percent of cases were found from the overall tests performed so far, the release added.

Of the total infections, 70.14 percent of the patients recovered, while 1.39 percent died so far after the first positive cases of COVID-19 were identified in the country on March 8.
