Now uncle ‘rapes’ 10th grader in Chandpur

A 10th grader from the village of Rustompur in Chandpur's Faridganj upazila was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle.

Kamrul Islam, 40, son of late Ali Ahmed Mollah of Dakhshin Koroa village in Raipur upazila of Laxmipur district, said Nurul Islam, a sub-inspector of Faridganj Police Station, first raped the girl two years ago and captured video of himself raping her.

In the last two years, Kamrul has violated her several times, threatening the girl to reveal the video.

Kamrul abducted the girl on September 25 when she was going to a coaching center and confined her to a house in the Laxmipur district of Raipur upazila. He allegedly raped her for 13 days there, SI said.

Following a complaint filed by the family of the victim, on Wednesday night, police rescued the girl from Raipur and held Kamrul.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the victim's mother filed a complaint with the Faridganj Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

Kamrul was shown arrested in the case, said Mohammad Shahid Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station.

Meanwhile, the girl was sent to Chandpur General Hospital for medical tests, the OC added
