The High Court ordered the Barishal Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal to grant bail immediately to four children who, in connection with a rape case, were sent to a child development center.

The children, aged between 10 and 11, are facing a lawsuit in Bakerganj for allegedly raping a six-year-old.

Barishal's Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal granted the children bail under the HC order.

The bail order was also conveyed to the authorities of Jashore and to the Jashore deputy commissioner asking them to give the children with proper security to their guardians.

Following a TV story, a division bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim passed the order Thursday night.

The rape reportedly occurred on October 6 in Bakerganj, and the victim's father filed the case on the same day.

On October 7, the four children were arrested by Bakerganj police and produced before Senior Judicial Magistrate Enayet Ullah, who refused the bail petition, and sent them to the correction center.

The HC ordered the release on bail of four children from the Children's Development Centre in Jashore's Pulerhat and the transfer of them to guardians.

The Bakerganj Police Station Officer in Charge was ordered to send a report to the Special Officer of the Supreme Court after handing the children over to their guardians.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Barishal Enayet Ullah, who refused the children's bail petition, will have to appear on Sunday before the HC to provide his reason for refusing the petition for bail.

The HC also directed Bakerganj Police Station's OC to appear on Sunday along with the kids and their guardians.

It further asked the Registrar of Barishal Medical College Hospital to submit the medical report of the victim of the alleged rape incident to this court within the deadline.
