On Friday, the police sought a 10-day remand for Iftekhar Fardin Dihan, the lone accused in a case filed in the capital's Kalabagan district over the murder of an O-level student from Mastermind School after rape.

To this end, the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court has submitted a remand petition.

Earlier, on Thursday night, Md Al Amin, the father of the victims, filed a case with the Kalabagan Police Station.

In the case statement, the defendant alleged that when his family members were not home, Fardin coerced his daughter into going to his flat and raped her.

The woman bled profusely and was unconscious as a result of the rape. Fardin then took her to the hospital, the victim's father alleged, to divert responsibility.

Sajjadur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said they had to wait for the forensic report to make sure that the girl had been raped before she was killed.

Anushka Amin Arna, Al Amin's daughter, was killed by Iftekhar Fardin Dihan and some of his friends on Thursday afternoon in Kalabagan after a gang-rape.

Four rapists, including the main suspect in the Dihan incident, were detained by the Kalabagan police soon after the incident.

Iftekhar Fardin Dihan later submitted a confessional declaration to the police.
