Mother slaughters minor girl in Bhola

On Sunday morning, an 18-month-old minor girl was slaughtered by her mother in Cheuakhali village of Bhola Sadar upazila's Dhania union.

Taiba Islam Mawa, the daughter of the Tania and Sabuj couple from the region, was named as the deceased.

Bhola Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Enayet Hossain said the victim's mother, Tania, killed Mawa at 9:00 am with a knife in her home. The police retrieved the body from the spot after hearing the news and arrested Tania.

Tania admitted to the assassination during the preliminary interrogation. The police heard from local residents that the woman was mentally ill.

OC Enayet further reported that the body was sent for autopsy to the Bhola Sadar Hospital morgue. Preparation is underway for Sadar Model Police Station to file a murder case.
