After the ongoing lockdown, the government is actively thinking of launching public transport conditionally in compliance with the health rules considering the public interest. However, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the use of masks and hand sanitizers should be made mandatory.

Obaidul Quader, who joined the meeting virtually from the government residence on Saturday (April 24) morning, said this in an exchange of views with officials of Barisal Road Zone, BRTC and BRTA.

Obaidul Quader said that if the fare was fixed leaving half the seats vacant in public transport, it will be brought under the penalty of taking extra fare. He said that a political party of the country is the supplier and sponsor of the false propaganda being spread at home and abroad using social media. Opposition groups called for a halt to the protests, saying "those who are being punished for propaganda and rumors are being criticized." There is no reason to think that cybercrime and digital security will remain out of government action.

Obaidul Quader asked, "Every day the opposition says against the government, they are not even leaving the Prime Minister to use obscene language, but is there any kind of harassment or arrest against these people?"
