Babul did not give a confessional statement, sent to jail

Babul Akhter, a former Superintendent of Police, was arrested and questioned for five days in connection with the murder of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu. The Police Bureau of Investigation brought him before Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Sarwar Jahan on Monday afternoon (PBI).

In the judge's chambers, Babul Akhter pleaded not guilty under section 164 and did not give any answer. He was later sent to jail by the court at 3.15 pm.
