DMP arrests 64 for consuming, selling drug

In a regular anti-drugs campaign by the Detective Branch (DB) under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), 64 persons have been arrested for consuming and selling drugs in the capital city in the last 24 hours.
According to a DMP statement issued today, as part of the campaign, the police raided different areas under various police stations and detained 81 drug abusers and recovered drugs from their possession from 6 am on August 29, 2021 to 6 am today.
During the anti-drug campaign, police seized 166 grams of heroin, 2.7 kilograms of cannabis, 2,421 pieces of yaba tablets, 395 bottle of phensidyle and eight injections from them, it said.
Police filed 51 cases against the arrestees with concerned police stations under the Narcotics Control Act.
