Public service first, private interest later: Nasim asks doctors

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim yesterday asked government appointed doctors to lay priority to public service over private practices.

"Public service first, private interest later you're in a noble profession we hope you'll engage in this profession with an attitude of honesty " he said this while speaking at a joining ceremony as the chief guest of medical officers (non-cadre) of Department of Family Planning under Health and Family Welfare Ministry at Bangladesh Medical Association auditorium here.

The health minister also urged the newly appointed medical officers and employees at different level to serve the people at their respective positions at grass roots level to uphold the dignity of medical services.

State Minister for Health and family Welfare Dr Zahid Malik addressed as special guest at the function with secretary to the health and family welfare ministry M Sirajul Islam in the chair.

Among others, BMA secretary general and Shadinata Chiktshak Parishad President Iqbal Arsalan, BMA president Professor Mahmud Hassan and director general of health directorate Abul Kalam Azad spoke on the occasion.
