Killers of lawmaker Liton identified: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque here today said they have already identified the killers of Gaibandha Awami League lawmaker Manzurul Islam Liton and hoped to arrest the culprits soon.

"Significant progress has been made in investigation into lawmaker Liton's murder case and the three persons who came to Liton's residence by a motorbike on the day of the incident are now under surveillance of police," he said after laying foundation stone of three buildings for police.

"Police has already seized the motorcycle and the killers will soon be brought to book," he added.

The police chief laid the foundation stone of barrack building, arms depot, and a training centre for industrial police at Ashulia, Savar, on the outskirts of the city.

He earlier, took salute and march-past upon completion of the first orientation course for the women police.
