Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad's 81st birth anniversary tomorrow

The 81st birth anniversary of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh will be observed here tomorrow in a befitting manner. 

The Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh Trust, Narail district administration and BGB Jessore region will observe the birth anniversary through various programmes.

The programmes include placing of floral wreaths at the Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh portrait, Qurankhani, Milad Mahfil and discussion will be held at Nur Mohammad Nagar.

Deputy Commissioner of Narail Helal Mahmud Sharif, who is also president of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh Trust, district council chairman Advocate Shorab Hossain Biswas, Police Super Sarder Rakibul islam, Nur Mohammad Sheikh Trust's member secretary Azizur Rahman Bhuiyan and other officials will attend the programmes at Nur Mohammad complex auditorium here.

Nur Mohammad Sheikh was born on February 26, 1936 at Mahiskhola village in Narail sadar upazila of the district. He joined the then East Pakistan Rifles (EPR), which is now Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), on February 26, 1959. 

Later, he joined the War of Liberation in 1971.Nur Mohammad Sheikh embraced martyrdom while he was fighting against the Pakistani occupation army on September 5, 1971 at Goalhati in Jessore sector.
