Writ filed with HC challenging transport strike

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking a halt on the countrywide wildcat transport strike, enforced on Tuesday.

Lawyer Manjil Morsed filed the petition on Wednesday morning.

The lawyer told Prothom Alo that hearing on the writ petition may be held today (Wednesday).

Transport workers have enforced the strike protesting a court verdict that awarded a driver life in jail for killing five, including noted filmmaker Tareque Masud and journalist Mishuk Munier, in a road accident in Manikganj district.
