DMP lodges 1372 cases over traffic rule violation

Taking serious note of growing incidences of glaring violations of traffic rules, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) lodged 1372 cases and realized Taka 10:55 lakh yesterday (Wednesday) despite the country had gone through an indefinite transport strike that called off on Wednesday afternoon.

It also dumped 5 vehicles and put wrecker in 156 others, said an official release.

The cases were lodged on charges of using hydraulic horn, hooter, beckon light, black glasses and driving on wrong routes.

Traffic department of police lodged the cases and realized the money
from owners and drivers of different vehicles after conducting raids at different thana area in the capital city, the release said.
