Two children found dead inside septic tank in Noakhali

Two children have been found dead inside a septic tank in a Noakhali village.

The incident has been reported from Senbag Upazila's Manikpur village on Sunday.

Local Union Council Chairman Shahjahan Bhuiyan said the bodies of a 2-year-old girl and a boy of the same age were recovered from the septic tank of a house on Sunday evening.

Quoting the children's families, he said Faria Akter and Abdur Rahman were playing beside the house in the afternoon. Locals recovered their bodies in the evening. "Neighbours suspect they fell through the unsealed opening of the tank."

Senbag police OC Harun-or-Rashid said the victims' families did not report the incident, but a team from his station turned up at the spit on Monday morning.
