The Supreme Court today fixed May 14 for hearing the review petition filed by war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee against its earlier verdict that sentenced him to imprisonment until death.

A four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha fixed the date.

Recently, two petitions – one by Sayedee and another by the government were filed with the SC against its verdict that commuted his death sentence to the imprisonment until death. In the petitions, Sayedee sought acquittal and the government sought for his death penalty.

The court will also hear the government petition on the same day.
