Man killed in RAB ‘shootout

A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Zhaoil area of Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj on Tuesday night.
The deceased is Halim Sarkar, 55, resident of Satbaria village of the upazila.
RAB-12 Sirajganj special company commander major Safayet Ahmed said two RAB members were also injured in the incident. RAB recovered arms and ammunitions from the spot.
Kamarkhand police station officer-in-charge Basudeb Sinha confirmed the incident and said police recovered the body and sent it to Sirajganj general hospital morgue for autopsy.
