SC stays bail of Rana

The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) today stayed for three days a High Court order granting bail to Tangail-3 lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in Freedom Fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case.
The court Appellate Division Chamber Judge passed the order accepting a plea of the state in this regard.
"The Appellate Division Chamber Judge court will hold further hearing on the matter on April 18," said deputy attorney general Masud Hasan Chowdhury.
Earlier on April 13, the High Court granted the Rana bail in the case and issued a rule, asking the state to explain as to why it shall not grant the lawmaker permanent bail in the case.
Rana was sent to jail by a trial court as he surrendered before it on September 18, 2016.
