Dinajpur boiler blast death toll hits 13

The death toll in the blast of Jamuna Automatic Rice Mill’s boiler in Dinajpur sadar upazila rose to 13 as another succumbed to his injuries at Rangpur Medical College Hospital Monday morning (April 24).

Of the deceased, three were identified as Munna, 32 and Delwar, 40 and Manoranjan Roy, 36. As many as 17 people are under treatment at the burn unit of the hospital.

Rangpur Medical College Hospital burn unit physician Dr M Maruful Islam told Banglanews that the deceased had sustained 90-95 percent burn injuries.

“Rest of the injured are also in critical condition,” he added.

On April 19, boiler blast at Jamuna Automatic Rice Mill in the district sadar injured 30 people critically. They were rushed to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

Of them, 21 were shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
