Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing

BGB has sent a protest letter to BSF asking for a flag meeting.

A Bangladeshi national has been shot dead by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Gilabari border in Chapainawabganj’s Bholahat upazila.

The deceased is Saidul Islam, of Shikari village.

Confirming the matter, BGB 59 battalion Commanding Officer Lt Col Rashed Ali said BSF troops opened fire when Saidul was entering into India through pillar No 201 around 10pm Sunday.

He said a bullet wound was found in Saidul’s abdomen.

BGB has sent a protest letter to BSF asking for a flag meeting.

Bholarhar police station Officer-in-Charge Mohsin Ali said the body was sent to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem examination.

Victim’s father filed a case with the police station in this connection, said the OC.
