7 died, 30 injured as bus plunges into Tangail ditch

At least 7 people were killed and 30 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Ghatail upazila.
The deceased were identified as—Asma, 25, Chandan, 32, from Gopalpur sadar upazila, Nur-e Alam, 30, from Sonargaon of Narayanganj, Abdur Rahim, 32, from Dhikpaik village of Dhanbari upazila, Motaher, 28, and Saidul Islam, 24, from Bonogram village under Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur.
Witnesses said that the Dhanbari-bound bus lost control when it was trying to overtake another bus in Gunok gram area in Ghatail upazila.
The bus fell into a ditch, leaving 7 people dead and 30 others injured, they said.
The injured were sent to different local hospitals and that of adjacent district towns for treatment, said local people.
Tangail Fire service deputy inspector Monir Hossain confirmed that.
