Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha remarked that some eager officers and employees are harming the judiciary by providing erroneous report to the head of the government.

He made the assertion while addressing a reception program arranged by Joypurhat district Bar Association on Wednesday noon (May 3).

SK Sinha said few government officials are presenting misleading reports to the Prime Minister by endangering the judicial department along with people and the state.

“Previously, decisions of the full court were implemented regularly, now they are not. The PM is being misreported by some people in the government. I won’t comment more in this regard as it will be discomfiting to them. I have no intention of arguing with ministers or the government.”

The Chief Justice also advised not to take the law in our own hands in order to establish the rule of law.

Joypurhat district Bar Association general secretary Shahinur Rahman Saheen, government prosecutor (GP) Mamin Ahmed Chowdhury and Senior lawyer Khwaja Jahurul Haque also spoke at the program chaired by president advocate Nripendranath Mandal.
