2 people shot dead in Faridpur 'gunfight'

Two men were shot to death during a 'gunfight' between two groups of alleged robbers on Faridpur bypass road early Tuesday.

The deceased are Pavel, 28, and Shabuj, 25.

Faridpur police superintendent Subhash Chandra Saha confirmed the incident and said the 'gunfight' took place around 3:30am on Tuesday.

Later, the two suspected robbers were taken to Faridpur Medical College and Hospital at about 4:00am, where they were declared dead.

The hospital physicians said both the men had bullet injuries in their head.
