Murder accused dies in Sylhet police custody

A sexagenarian man who was earlier arrested on Friday (May 12) in a case filed for killing his cousin in Bishwanath upazila, died in police custody later at the night.
Earlier on Friday evening, police arrested Ramjan Ali, 65, in a case for killing his cousin Oyaris Ali, 63.
After the arrest, Ramjan fell sick immediately and was admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Later, he died in the hospital at night, said Bishwanath police station officer-in-charge (OC) Monirul Islam.
Sylher Central Jail Superintendent Sagir Mia told Banglanews that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Following previous enmity, Ramjan reportedly stabbed Oyaris Ali to death on Friday.
Later, Oyaris’ wife filed a case with Bishwanath police station in this connection.
