Jatiya Sangsad budget session to continue till July 13

The Jatiya Sangsad started its fourth budget session of the 10th parliament this morning.

The budget session will continue till July 13, according to a decision taken at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

This is the 16th session of the 10th parliament which began at 11:00am, according to the release of parliament secretariat.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith will place the budget on June 1 for the upcoming fiscal year 2017-18, estimated to be over Tk 400,000 crore with a target of 7.4 percent GDP growth.

President Abdul Hamid on May 14 convened the 16th session exercising the power bestowed upon him in Article 72 (1) of the Constitution.

Sitting for five days, the 15th session was prorogued on May 8.
