Man held with Tk 11 lakh in Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a suspected hundi trader along with Tk 11 lakh from Putkhali border point on Wednesday morning.

Subedar Abul Hossain, company commander of Putkhali Camp, said BGB men conducted a drive at Putkhali border point acting on a secrete information that a huge amount of currency was being smuggled to India through hundi.

During the drive, the BGB members arrested Tariqul and recovered Tk 11 lakh after searching his body.

Later, Tariqul was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
