Man killed in Meherpur ‘gunfight’

A suspected criminal was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of criminals at Monakhali village of Mujibnagar upazila in Meherpur early Monday.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
The police rushed to the spot and identified a bullet hit body of a man around 2:00am.
The police also recovered a shutter gun, four bullets, three bombs and some locally-made weapons from the spot.
Assistant Superintendent of Meherpur police, Ahsan Habib, said police is trying to identify the deceased.
The body was sent to Meherpur General Hospital morgue, added the police.
