World Day Against Child Labour today

The World Day Against Child Labour will be observed here today as elsewhere in the world.

This year, the theme of the day is "In conflicts and disasters, protect children from child labour".

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages today calling for a more effective role of private organizations, individuals, national and international agencies, civil society and media alongside the government to prevent child labour.

In observance of the day, different government and non-government organizations including Labour and Employment Ministry have drawn up programmes at different places in the country including the capital.
