2 died in Nilphamari road accident

Two people were died and three others injured as truck-microbus-truck collided with each other in Saidpur upazila of Nilphamari early Wednesday.

The deceased are Md Mamunur Rashid, 35 and Monirul Islam, 34. The victims are residents of Ponchagar district.

Taraganj Highway police officer-in-charge Abdullahel Baki said the accident took place around 4:00am. When the Dhaka-bound microbus from Panchagar reached Chikli Bazar area of the upazila a goods-laden truck hit the vehicle from back.

Instantly, another truck from the front hit the microbus, leaving two people dead on the spot.

The police officer also said details of the deceased could not be known immediately as their bodies were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The injured were admitted to the hospital, too.

The OC also said no one was detained in the accident as drivers of the two trucks managed to flee.
