10 RMG factories in Gazipur to remain closed Tuesday

The authorities of 10 readymade garment (RMG) factory in Gazipur’s Nayarapara area kept their factories closed for Tuesday following a boiler blast in Multi-Fabs Ltd garment factory that died nine garment workers.

The garment workers of the factories who gathered in front of the factories said the authorities declared the sudden closure for today to avoid any untoward situation.

Besides, the authorities of the Multi-Fabs Ltd, where the boiler exploded, closed the factory for an indefinite period, said the factory workers.

They gathered in front of the factories in the morning.

Meanwhile, another worker who suffered injuries in the explosion died at night in Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), raising the death toll from the incident to nine.

However, the deceased could not be identified yet.

Earliar, at least eight people were died and around 50 others injured as the boiler exploded there on Monday evening.

The injured were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital and DMCH where one of the injured succumbed to his injuries at night, sources at the DMCH said.
