Man killed in Cox’s Bazar fresh landslide

A man was killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rain in Maheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar this morning.
Deceased Monar Alam, 38, was a resident of Mohrakata village in the upazila.
The incident took place when he came out of his house in the hilly area around 7:00am, said Pradwip Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Maheshkhali Police Station.
He was rescued and taken to the local health complex.
An hour later, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, police said.
A total of 150 people were killed in landslides in five districts including Cox’s Bazar last month.
