Information Commission submits reports to PM

Chief Information Commissioner Prof. Dr M Golam Rahman today handed over the annual report of the year 2016 to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office here today.
PM's press secretary Ihsanul Karim said Dr Rahman apprised the prime minister of the activities of the commission.
The prime minister praised the initiatives taken by the commission for implementation of the Right to Information Act,2009 and ensuring access of the people to the information.
At that time the prime minister reiterated her government's commitment to free flow of information.
Dr Golam Rahman said the commission has disposed 1,786 complaints out of 1,817 lodged with the commission during the year. Architectural design of the new building of the commission has also been approved, he said.
PMO Secretary Suriya Begum was present at that time.
