Student found dead in Rajshahi

Police recovered the hanging body of a student of Rajshahi College from a mess-house at Sonadighi in the city early today.

Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station, said Monirul Islam, 23, a 3rd year student of Accounting Department of the college, was a boarder of 'SS Chhatrabas' (room 604) in the area.

His roommate returned to the mess-house around 9:00 pm on Friday and found the room door locked from outside.

Later, he informed the homeowner and he did not get any response from the room after knocking on its door.

Being informed, police rushed in and broke into the room in presence of Monirul's guardian around 1:30am and found his body hanging from the ceiling fan.

Police suspected that Monirul, son of Rafiqul Islam of Majhgram in Singra upazila of Natore district, might have committed suicide.
