AL-Govt. will again elected to power: Mosharraf

LGRD and Cooperative Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain yesterday said the Awami League government would once again come to power as the people would re-elect the party for continuing the ongoing development spree and improving their living standard.

He said whenever the Awami League remains in power the mass-people can get the chance of uplifting their socio-economic condition. So, he urged the party leaders and workers to win the hearts of the general public for making Awami League victorious in the next general election. 

The minister was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Muktijoddha Complex at Mohanpur in the district yesterday afternoon as chief guest.

Local Government Engineering Department supervised the construction works of the three-storied building at a cost of around Taka three crore.

Mosharraf Hossain recalled the greatest contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the independence of Bangladesh. 

He added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for welfare of the valiant freedom fighters. She has adopted measures for constructing freedom fighters complex in each upazila.

Omor Faruque Chowdhury, MP, Abdul Wadud, MP, Ayend Uddin, MP, Akhter Jahan, MP, former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and former state minister Zinatunnessa Talukder also spoke. Upazila Awami League President Abdus Salam chaired the meeting.

Mosharraf Hossain said: "We've already stepped into the stair of a lower middle-income country from the lower-income nation. Bangladesh doesn't want to stay at the lower ladder... it wants to climb up." 

He said Bangladesh is moving ahead in all fronts and the government is determined to turn the country into a peaceful abode in South Asia.
