Condemned convict dies at Kashimpur jail

A condemned convict died at Kashimpur high security jail early Monday after he fell sick.

The deceased was identified as Ramjan alias Makbul, 53, son of late Ohed Ali, a resident of Pagar Jhinu market area of Tongi in city.

Jailer Bikash Raihan, said Ramjan was sentenced to death in a murder case filed with Tongi police station in 2013.

He was admitted to jail hospital after he fell sick around 12:30am. Later, he was taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
