‘Gunfight’ in Mohammadpur, 2 ‘robbers’ shot

Two alleged robbers sustained bullet injuries in what Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) described as a gunfight in Mohammadpur area of Dhaka early today.

Six others were also said to have been arrested during the “gunfight” when Rab intercepted a robbery attempt in Ekata Housing area, the elite force said in a text.

Bullet-ridden Helal, 35, and Serajul Islam, 50, have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH’s police outpost, said.

Some local and foreign made arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot. Further details will be disclosed at a press briefing later in the day.
