3 died as trailer crushes three-wheeler in Ctg

Three people were died and two injured as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw was crushed under a trailer (used to carry containers) in Chittagong city this morning.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident took place around 10:00am on Port Connecting Road (PCR) near Nimtala when the trailer driver lost control and fell on the three-wheeler, said Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bandar Police Station.

Two of the victims died on the spot while the other was pronounced dead at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH), said Sub-inspector Md Jahir, in-charge of CMCH Police Outpost.

“The accident might have occurred due to a pothole on the road,” OC Moinul speculated.

A team of fire service rescued the injured and towed the vehicles.
