Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said BNP is creating a poisonous environment over the court verdict on the 16th constitutional amendment.

"They want to create 1/11 again in the country...But it will not happen on the soil of Bangladesh," he said, speaking as the chief guest, at a meeting at the Jatiya Krira Parishad auditorium here.

Sheikh Russel Shishu-Kishore Parishad (SRSKP) organized the discussion marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.

Sirajul Islam, MP, National Press Club President Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman and SRSKP Secretary General Mahmud-us-Samad addressed the discussion as special guests with organization Chairman Rakibur Rahman in the chair.

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said BNP is now playing with venomous snakes. They will face with tragic consequences after the bite of the venomous snakes, he added.

They (BNP) are now busy with conspiracies at home and abroad as the countrymen are not with them, the minister said.
