4 Rohingyas die as boat capsizes in Naf river

Four Rohingya refugees died after a boat carrying the migrants fleeing persecution in Myanmar capsized in the Naf River at Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar early today.

The engine boat carrying the migrants was trying to enter Bangladesh through Shah Porir Dwip at Teknaf upazila of the district when it capsized in the wee hours of today, said Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Mohammad Main Uddin.

Police recovered the four bodies and search is on for more who are likely missing.

It is not known yet, how many people were on the boat, the official said.
