BSCIC disburses Tk 30 lakh loan in Rajshahi

A total of 15 entrepreneurs were given loan worth Taka 30 lakh aimed at facilitating them to strengthen their respective enterprises for the sake of boosting income-generating activities alongside job opportunities.

From its own fund, the local office of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) disbursed the bank-cheques of the collateral -free loans at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) on Thursday afternoon.

On the occasion, certificates for entrepreneurship development training were distributed among 51 trainees.

DC Abdul Jalil accompanied by BSCIC's Rajshahi Deputy General Manager Jafar Bayazid and others concerned were present at the distribution ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Jalil urged the recipients to develop their business after the best use of the loan.

Earlier on May 5 last, 13 entrepreneurs hardest-hit by the adverse impact of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic situation were given Taka 61 lakh loan from the Prime Minister's stimulus package fund.

The BSCIC office disbursed the incentive loans to cottage, micro, small and medium enterprise (CMSME) entrepreneurs so that they can recoup their losses.

Jafar Bayazid told BSS that the maximum interest rate at the customer level of this loan is 4 percent. Entrepreneurs will be able to repay the loan in a maximum of two years in 18 monthly equal installments, with a grace period of six months, he added.
